What Are First Step Act Credits?
The First Step Act allows many federal inmates to earn time credits by successfully participating in approved programs, classes, work assignments, and productive activities while incarcerated.
These earned time credits may help eligible inmates move closer to placement in a Residential Reentry Center (Halfway House), Home Confinement, or, in some cases, an earlier release from Bureau of Prisons custody.
